How to Upgrade Your Existing Skincare: Make Any Product More Herbal & Effective

How to Upgrade Your Existing Skincare: Make Any Product More Herbal & Effective

Your Skin Changes… So Should Your Products

Let’s be honest—most of us have used the same skincare or haircare product for 6–7 years.
But in those 6–7 years:

  • Your skin has changed
  • Your job or lifestyle changed
  • Your stress level changed
  • Your hormones changed
  • Your environment changed

Yet you’re still using the same product.

Switching everything suddenly is tough, risky, and overwhelming.
And MANY blogs recommend, “Just use this product instead.”
But that doesn’t work for everyone.

So here is the good news:

You can keep using the products you love AND upgrade them to suit your current skin or hair needs.

Today, with the Pia Beauty Squad, I’m sharing my personal secret:
How I make my existing products work better simply by adding herbal, plant-based boosters.

Why This Works: Most Handmade, Small-Batch Products Are Already Safe

Handmade products are usually:

  • Water-free or low-water
  • Free from heavy preservatives
  • Free from artificial fragrances & colors
  • Made in small batches
  • Ingredient-transparent

This means the base formula is SAFE and SIMPLE — perfect for adding ingredients.

Your skin is not fighting chemicals.
Your hair is not fighting silicones or waxes.
Your product is basically like a canvas.

That’s why when you add herbal ingredients, the product absorbs them better.

Why Add Herbal Ingredients Instead of Switching Products?

Because:

  • Your skin likes what it already knows
  • Sudden switching can cause irritation
  • You may love a product’s texture, feel or smell
  • You may trust the brand
  • Not every product needs to be replaced
  • Your base product is safe (possibly) —but maybe not targeted

So instead of starting from scratch…
Just upgrade what you already have.

🌿 PART 1: Upgrading Your SKINCARE Products

1. Add Ubtan Powder to Your Cleanser

Target: Brightening, pigmentation, glow, gentle exfoliation

Ubtan contains ingredients we have all eaten in some form—turmeric, licorice, chickpea flour, sandalwood, and more.

🔸 The problem:
Nobody is going to mix a bowl daily, apply it, wait, wash…
Life is busy.

🔸 My trick:
I use a fragrance-free, colorless cleanser that suits my sensitive skin.
Twice a week I mix a PINCH of Ubtan in my cleanser, rub it in, and wash.

✔️ I get the glow
✔️ I get turmeric benefits
✔️ My skin stays calm
✔️ And I don’t have to change my cleanser

This method is perfect for:

  • Pigmentation
  • Tan removal
  • Dull skin
  • Uneven tone

2. Add Face Oils into Moisturizers

A drop of Kumkumadi Face Oil added to your moisturizer:

  • Boosts nourishment
  • Repairs dryness
  • Enhances glow
  • Adds antioxidants

Perfect for winter!

3. Add Rosewater or Aloe Gel to Creams

This helps thin out heavy moisturizers and makes them more hydrating.

🌿 PART 2: Upgrading Your HAIRCARE Products

1. Mix Rosemary or Rose Hair Spray Into Your Shampoo

Target: Hair fall, regrowth, dryness relief

Just add:

  • 5–8 sprays directly into the shampoo in your hand

Benefits:

✔️ Strengthens roots
✔️ Reduces shedding
✔️ Boosts shine
✔️ Targets hair fall

You don’t have to make DIY rosemary water anymore - Handmde Pia Beauty Sprays already exists.

2. Mix Oils With Oils (The Right Way)

If coconut oil is the ONLY thing that works for your hair—keep using it! (Just when you choose one see ingredients)
Just boost it.

Example:

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp All-in-One Hair Oil (for Vitamin C boost)
  • This gives you:
  • Coconut’s softness
  • All-in-One’s herbal strength
  • BEST COMBO if you want:
  • Regrowth
  • Dandruff control
  • Stronger ends

3. Add Amla or TFL (Regrowth Booster) Oil Into Any Hair Oil

Targets:

  • Dandruff
  • Flakes
  • Scalp irritation

Use 4–5 drops in your palm, mix with your chosen oil, and apply.

🌿 PART 3: Why Mixing Works

Because these ingredients are targeted:

  • Rosemary = Hair regrowth
  • Turmeric = Pigmentation
  • Amla = Dandruff & strengthening
  • Saffron = Glow
  • Onion = Hair fall control

You don’t need NEW products.
You need better combinations.

🌿 PART 4: How to Choose the Right Ingredients

✔️ Step 1: Identify your concern

Dryness? Pigmentation? Hair fall?

✔️ Step 2: Keep your favorite product as the base

Don’t change what is already working.

✔️ Step 3: Add the ingredient booster

Choose the plant-based option that targets your concern.

✔️ Step 4: Use it consistently

2–3 times a week is enough.

Conclusion: Smart, Safe, and Herbal Beauty

If I create a product, it must have a purpose.
Shelves are full of hundreds of oils: garlic oil, ginger oil, onion oil…
But does every bottle really give results?

Look at the ingredients—not the label.

Your skin and hair deserve targeted, herbal, safe, and effective care.

This holiday season, I wish you safe, happy, and educated shopping.
Your beauty routine should evolve just like you do.
