Henna naturally produces warm copper/red tones. To achieve a deeper brown or black result, indigo is applied after the henna step.
Step 1 – Henna: Prepares the hair and creates the base color.
Step 2 – Indigo: Deepens the color toward dark brown or black.
Light Brown → generally 1 step
Dark Brown → henna + indigo
Black → henna + indigo
Your final result depends on your starting hair color, percentage of gray, hair texture, previous chemical treatments and application time.
